Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) is right next to Essen. It takes about 20 minutes by local train from the airport to Essen main station. If you have to go somewhere in the south of Essen it's even faster.
Düsseldorf-Weeze (NRN) is nowhere near Essen or even Düsseldorf. It's a typical Ryan-Air scam to give some remote village airport the name of a big city, so that the people believe it's actually in that city. Weeze is actually about 80km away from Düsseldorf and Essen
It would take about an hour and a half to get from Weeze to Essen main station by train and the connections are not as regular as from Düsseldorf to Essen.
So if you can get a cheap flight to Weezeand are not on a tight schedule it may be worth flying to Weeze, but the nearest airport to Essen is Düsseldorf (DUS).

yes it is just for cheap flights it will cost you around 15 euros per person to essen train station. you will travel for more than an hour

and it is 9 euros with normal train for 20-30 min from dusseldorf airport.

?
Hello from Düsseldorf.

you can go by Underground Train called S6 from Düsseldorf Airport to Essen.

Düsseldorf is closer and has better connections. Also Essen is close enough to catch an (expensive) cab or a train. Check out this link:

hi..

duesseldorf airport and duesseldorf -weeze are not the same airports!
the second one is close to rhede, it is called airport niederrhein.. the connections with public transport from weeze are very bad..
but it has a good connection to motorway.

here is the homepage of the airport
http://www.airport-weeze.de/index.php?lang=en

maybe you could find a fly to duesseldorf airport or maybe dortmund airport.

have a nice journey
