All German States are different regarding customs, dialects and the way to live.
But those differences are mostly slight and if a German moves from 1 state to the other it wouldn't be difficult to adapt.
Germany has also a lot of farmland, in some states they grow potatoes, in others they grow wheat or vegetables, or vine.
North Rhine Westphalia is known for potato farms, the lower Rhine is known for the wineries.
