Cheap Sleep in Munich during Oktoberfest?

Hi guys and gals, need advise on the accomodation during the Oktoberfest. All the reasonable and cheap hostel are fully booked during this peiod. I was thinking of staying in another nearby town or city and travel to munich for the fest.Any suggestions,hostels or better idea?

If you book in advance, you do get good deals. Wait too long, you will get almost nothing.

There is town, I think something like Augustina, a half hour train ride to the west of Munich, that may be a good choice.

Have a pint for me too.

I found this website which shows free rooms during Oktoberfest. Website is in German but some hotels/guesthouses have English infos too!

A hostel is defintely the way to go. They're close to everything and cheap! The one I stayed at in Munich was really nice too! But they could all be booked, like you've said. You may be better off in a hostel in a nearby town, travelling by train is relatively cheap there.
