My favorite is Garmisch-Partenkirken. It is a beautiful town at the base of the Alps. The scenery is so incredible. By train it is about 2 hours from Munich. |

I like Berlin and Cologne...but they are well known!

Wiesbaden... Old roman town, cobblestone streets. nice little bistros off the tourist strip, but also, more millionaires than Beverly Hills. They even have their own equivalent of Rodeo drive.
Across the river is Mainz with its 1000 year old cathedral, The Gutenberg museum with several of the first printed Bibles, and much more history.
And just down the Rhine is Eltville with its own storybook castle. there are tours down the river showing the castles along the Rhine of the Robber Barons. |
