What's your low budget exactly? Cities like Cologne are not really cheap. And eating twice a day can mean some Döner Kebab (which IS cheap), or a high-class restaurant. And nightlife also isn't cheap: The price for a beer in Cologne may sound cheap, but Cologne has the smallest beer glasses in the world. A size a Bavarian like me wouldn't even touch. So going out for a night can be quite expensive.
On a REALLY low budget, I think one could get through with 30 euros a day. 50 would be something reasonable, and from 70 onwards would allow for some souvenirs, too. Remember, you're a tourist, and you'll always spend more than you would at home. Want to send an email to your friends at home? No problem, go to an internet café, and you can do it, but there goes another euro.
Talking about electronics: Make sure you buy a voltage adaptor in the US. Europe has 230 volts on the power outlets, not 120. Plugging a US device into a European outlet may fry it to the bone. |
