Deutsche Bahn question?

My mom will be traveling to Germany to visit me in May. She does not speak any german but will have to take the train from FRA airport to Offenberg and then a taxi to my house.

Is the train station IN the airport or in close walking distance? Will they speak english and be able to help her get on the right train and off at the right stop? (The website is in english so I thought maybe) I plan to order a car to pick her up so that shouldnt be a problem. Does she need to order her train ticket now or can she do it when her plane lands?

conley is right so far and as a frequent traveller to Germany I want to suggest that the conductors in the train are all speaking English. Some are very bad but you get what they say at least

You might find this site useful for information. http://www.worldairportguide.com/airport/323/airport_guide/Europe/Frankfurt-Airport.html

There are two train stations, but they are in the same area. Trains for Offenbach leave from the Regional Train Station (platforms 1-3). She can buy a ticket when she arrives at the station.

Your mother will have no trouble with English only - most people will be able to help her if she needs it. .

WWW.bahn.de gives you the schedules for the trains
www.fraport.com will help you with the airport informations
The train stations are both in terminal 1. Mom has to look for Fernbahnhof (long distance trains), if you are living in Offenburg. In case, you are living in Offenbach, the train will leave from track 1 in the short distance station, just below terminal 1.
If mom arrives in terminal 2 (area D and E), just outside, in the enter of terminal 2, is the bus stop for the free shuttle bus to the train stations. it stops just above the local station (tracks 1 to 3). To the long distance station, your mother must take the escalator up to tracks 4 to 7.
FRA has indicated all pretty well, so your guest should not have to many problems. And besides, kind of everybody speaks at least a bit of English.
Ticket offices are in both stations.
Enjoy the visit!

The train station is UNDER the airport. And in short walking distance. And yes, there are ticket counters where she can get a ticket. Cheaper and maybe more convenient might be to get the tickets online and print them out (full-ink mode!). In case there are any last minute changes or the train runs late, the announcements on FRA train station usually are in several languages (not that one can understand them in German, even, but... ;) )
People working for the Bahn at the airport usually do speak English, and are quite used to helping international travelers, so I think the whole Airport- Train station thing is not going to be that big a problem, even if it seems like that right now.
In the trains, usually there are boards that tell the next stop, so that shouldn't be a problem either.
I'd suggest, though, you meet her at the train station where she has to switch over to the cab. There might be any number of people standing around with a lot of luggage, and cab drivers usually ask one or two people if they are who they are looking for, than wait ten minutes and then take the next person who asks if they are free.

If you order tickets now, schedule in enough time for your mom to get through customs! I'd say if she is lucky, an hour, more realistic are two hours after planned landing time.

Good luck!
