I prefer mine for lunch or later and with sweet Weisswurst mustard and Salzstangen. I've never seen anyone in my family have them for breakfast. And beer - not before lunch.
Breakfast is usually fresh baked Kaiser buns with butter and jam served along with cheese and sometimes cold cuts.
My favourite mid-morning snack or brunch is a leberkase semmel from a sausage stand or from my favourite deli counter.

I'm Bavarian and I sometimes do, but rather for the traditional Sunday "Frühschoppen", the second breakfast you take at a Bavarian "Wirtshaus" (pub) at around 10 a.m. (i.e., after church if you went there) than for breakfast. It sure isn't everyday's breakfast for most Bavarians, but most still like it on occasions. It must be with sweet mustard and "Weißbier" (wheat beer), otherwise it isn't traditional. If you prefer a "Brezn" (pretzel) or a "Salzweckel" (white bread roll with salt) however, that's largely your choice.

Yes, they do - at times. But not for breakfast actually but for the so called morning break some time between 9 and 11 am (breakfast is any time between 6 and 9 am)
Edit: Don't know why getting so many thumbs down. Actually all answers given were right and all of them got thumbs down. Strange!
Actually there is said that the Weißwurst "must not hear the noon bells from church" so they should be eaten before noon. And they are best when really fresh and eating them in the late afternoon or even at night would make them taste less better.

yeah, they love that sh.it
the weisswurst is not really made from meat, it's a sort of all kind of everything (you don't wanna know).
Brezel and Weissbier
