Do Germans Have An Obligation To Regain German Land East Of The Oder River and Restore Germany's 1914 Borders?
I know about Kohl's 1990 treaty. But the Russians still keep territory taken from Poland in 1939 and from Germany in 1945.It is rightfully German territory.
No. It is not rightfully German territory. The rightful borders of Germany are as they are today. Not as they were in 1914. The rightful borders of Poland are as they are today. Not as they were in 1650. The rightful borders of Lithuania are the way they are today, not as they were when the Lithuanian kings ruled much of eastern europe. Get over the changes. Learn from the past. The only thing such talk as you use will get Germany is more pain and suffering. You embarrass yourself.

After WW2 there was no peace treaty and the (West) German Basic law allowed all former eastern territories of Germany to join the Federal Republic of Germany. Once the peace treaty was signed this article was removed from the German basic law. (constitution) By the way: millions of ethnic Germans were forced to leave their native lands.

Let me put it that way: Who cares what happened centuries ago? France and Germany, once the arch-enemies, are now the heart of "old Europe". And we have the EU, come what may. I know that there is much criticism about it from within the European Union; but it's the EU that makes Europe strong, despite all the struggles that there may be. The main goal of the EU was to overcome war, and as faras I can see, this has been a success. How ling did it take the U.S. to get united? Two hundred years? Lesson learned. Europe will do it in the next two or three decades.

Germans today are so pacifist they would rather give it away than stand up to the poles. Shameful.........
