They used to love Knight Rider, back in the 1980's. Me too. But I don't think they love him still. And after all, they rather loved K.I.T.T. -- You know, we're all a little bit car crazy over here. (And, mind, a REAL car has three pedals: gas, brake, and clutch. No real German would ever drive an automatic.)

My German teacher says that was a phase in Germany and that many Germans love other Germans from other countries including German-Americans like David Hasselhoff, whose ancestors come from Germany. It was popular at it's height in the early 1990's when the Berlin Wall fell when Hasselhoff danced and sung on the Berlin wall after it fell. Very intresting video.
