The only people who think the Germans are the master race are Americans. Thats why they try to copy them with Torture in Iraq or Human rights violation in Guantanamo. (sarcasm)

Truth is Germany in 2008 is seen as one of the most friendliest countries to travel and a safe one too.

Do all of us a favor: read up on German history SINCE 1945, take that German flag off the place where your avatar should be, stop harrassing the German people on here about stuff they are sick and tired of having to correct, and if you still don't believe that concentration camps are a thing of the past, than here's a thought: Stay where you are and do your math. Only few people knew about what was really going on back than, and Germans learned from that history. How do you get to say we are still the same? Obviously, you have no idea what you are talking about.
Oh, and for your information: I am German, I have brown hair and brown eyes, I have friends from all over the world, and I live in Germany. I never have had problems with racism, neither as the aggressor or as the recipient of it, neither here in Germany nor in the countries I lived in as a foreigner. Open-minded people apparently run less of a risk of that.

I have no idea who scared you so much about Germany. All I can say it's completely crap what you heard and typical for some Americans.

First of all: 6 million Jews were killed. Just to straighten out the facts.

In the US blacks could not sit on the same benches as whites in the 60s and even the US has changed. They elected Obama.

Germany is a safe place to travel to; avoid the former communist part and Berlin. Hamburg, Cologne, Munich are fun

The normal german actually had no idea what happened in concentration camps and by far no idea what the "doctors" did.

Even most of the highest people behind Hitler didnÂ´t know exactly how the "EndlÃ¶sung" looked like exactly.
That just as a side note.

Actually there were some assassination attempts on Hitler and resistance which all were punished hard.

You as an US american should know exactly how a population can be blinded and lead to admire their country dispite the reality even if the reality is well known.

Normally you are safe in germany(safer than in the USA).
However i donÂ´t know exactly if people like you are safe in germany if you yell that in germany.

Well, not more or less than Americans did when eradicating Native Americans and treating black people like animals during slavery! Remember "master" and "slave"! Have a look at your own history! I am sorry to say but you seem to be fascinated by this inhumane period of the German history. Time has gone by! Germans learned form their history and Americans obviously did too. Otherwise your next president wouldn't be Barack Obama. Congratulations!

In case you are seriously intending to go to Germany you should brush up a little on your knowledge about present Germany. The Federal Republic of Germany will turn 60 next year!

May i ask you, if it still safe to go to a high-school, that contains mainly white students in southern states of america as a black person, without being threatened or discriminated against?

Have you been taught about the American History??
Because, I was born in Germany, still live here, but have asian parents, do know that the African-American suffered a lot for many decades and still do.

In contrast to America we do not have death penalty and we do not need atom bombs. While our reputation increases the american reputation decreases.

Do i have to mention that there are a lot foreigners living in Germany, maybe even the half of the german population have immigrant background?

I recommend you to look up which year we are having, to watch the news, to read newspapers about the world and to learn a little about the history.
I think you really need that!!!

Of course it's safe. As someone else said, this is 2008 not 1938. I was there in 1986 and nobody even gave you a second look. They just get on with their own life and let you get on with yours. I don't think they are actually aware that you ARE a tourist, much less care. When they found out we were tourists [or travellers, as I prefer to say], they were very friendly and helpful. They even have information booths at railway stations etc. to give you helpful advice and will even book a room for you on the phone if you need one. Make sure you go to Munich and take a day tour by bus to Neuschwanstein Castle [the one depicted in the Disneyland shows]. It is amazing. You will have no trouble unless you start it, which goes for most countries. Also a boat ride down the Rhine river is a great thing to do.

Lol. Of course it is. My parents lived in Munich for 3 years and travelled extensively throughout Germany. My mom looks German, but my dad looks Italian. He said that people treated him negatively sometimes because there is a large Turkish population in Germany which causes some racial tension. But Germany is a VERY safe country to travel around. I've been there several times myself and it was GORGEOUS. Sometimes I felt like people were staring at me at watching me, and it was a little bit uncomfortable. But that kind of thing is easy to get over. They're really very nice people for the most part. Oh man the food was so good too! And the beer!! Oh man I want to go back right now just thinking about it...

Oh, and the country has changed alot since World War II, and the people have changed alot too. They're very open about what took place during the war. And they've got a little bit of a guilt/shame complex. In fact, some of the younger generation are actually estranged from their grandparents because they don't feel that the older generation has changed much. Compare that to Japan, where they don't even acknowledge that a war ever even took place. And the Japanese were responsible for some horrible stuff as well, especially in their campaigns against China.

Sorry, but if one nation thinks to be the master race, these are the Americans! Sorry, guys, don't want to be mean, I really love your country and people! But there it's absolutely normal to be proud of America and it's a really powerful country, too.
But if one German says he's proud to be a german, so many people are thinking of the second World War, the jews and rassistic germans - BUT THAT'S NOT THE TRUTH ANYMORE!!
Jeez, I AM german and I AM proud of being one... and I have brown hairs... who the f*Â§"& cares about having blonde hair or blue eyes... honestly when I hear this describtion I always think about scandiavian people first...
And if you're talking about such a disgusting man like Mengele, who did these horrible things... all nations have people who did evil things like this... from Europe to America to Africa... humans can be really cruel sometimes... it can't be bounded by one or two nations...

I was able to see different kind of people in Germany. In South Germany is still not everything OK with that.
