Shops and hotel in Germany usually accept VISA, Mastercard, American Express and sometimes Diner's Club. If a sign of that companies is on you card you can use it in most shops, restaurants, hotels. When you have a Cirrus sign you can get money from cash-machines (there's a chash machine on nearly every corner) without any problem but not sure if shops accept the card! Perhaps you should contact your bank to check how to use your card in Germany.

Hey there! :) If your card says Cirrus on the back, it will work in Germany. My ATB card worked while I was there last year. :)
