Does Frankfurt Airport Have a Place to Store Your Carry-On so You Can Explore Frankfurt?
I'm flying to Europe in a few months and I have a stop in Frankfurt, Germany with an 8 hour layover. I am wondering if there is a place in the airport to store my carry-ons so I can explore Frankfurt for a few hours before my next flight? (I was able to do this in Singapore, so am wondering if this applies to other airports)
Yes, there is a place where you can store your carry on :o)
In the official web site of the Frankfurt Airport, you will find all you need to know about this service: where, prices etc. here you have the link (english version):
- now you will see on the LEFT side a menu. In this menu under "Baggage" you will see "Storage"
- click on "Storage" and "voila" you have all information about this service :o) .
As you will see, there are three places available to store your carry on, so I would recomend to ask which of them is the nearest to your departure gate. The airport is quite large and you can save a lot of time if you do not have to walk a long distance from the place where you store your carry on to your departure gate ;o)
unnga
To do that you need to re-checkin. Make sure your have a separate ticket so you can check in again. You need 2 hours for that. Add another hour from landing at airport and leaving arrival. This means you have only 5 hrs to explore Frankfurt. Are you arriving at night? Then there is nothing to see. Are you arriving at dawn (most flights from Asia arrive early in the morning). If yes, shops open later so there is nothing to see also.
Also Frankfurt Airport is about half hour by train to the Main Train station. You need to make allowance for that too. Its all a mad rush and may be worth your while if you drop off at Konstablerwache station where major shopping district is located.
