Does anyone know about any good universities in Germany?

There are a lot of universities with a good reputation in general. But, as to my experience, recommendations depend strongly on the subject(s) you wish to study. Better have a look at e.g. publications in your field, and then get in touch with the institutes which seem interesting to you. Or post a more specific question here - your question is far too general because the german higher education system is different from that e.g. in the USA.

There is a good one in Frankfurt but there are also others. How about checking with the nearest German consulate for updated information?

The University in Heidelberg comes to mind. It's a liberal art school, however, the medicine faculty makes it really well known. Yet, every department has it's own special recognitions. Check out the website.

BTW, the University of Heidelberg is the oldest in Germany, however there are tons of other good universities. I only mention this one, because I'm studying abroad there currently. It's a great University and a wonderful city to live in!

I would recommend Uni Köln - University of Cologne - http://www.uni-koeln.de/index.e.html My mum and dad both finished this university - and my cousin is studying there as well.

Berlin, Koln, and Munich has the largest degree program in brewing beer in the world...(I guess that makes sense when you think about it). Those 3 are the largest in Germany and are twice the size of our largest (USA)---they have like 50,000 or 60,000 students and are spread out all over their cities...If I were to go to college that is where I would go too.

Munich
Greifswald
Berlin

For what subject?
