Well there is no easy way to find a job here I suppose you are American citizen
you will need to pass immigration which is a lot harder than in the USA.
You will need a resident and a work permit first or find a company who will hire you and help you getting both.

One of them - Theo - offered me a job in Berlin, where I just have to say feekee feekee and I earn like 10 Eurodollar per day and he pays me a hotelroom in the posh Moulin Rouge Hotel. for finding a job, i'd advice you to seek on monster.de , guess you know the monster.com firm...than, after you know if you'll get a job and in which part of the county it'll be, i'd start a research for houses....
