Frankfurt International Airport to Frankfurt Hahn? Is it possible? Is it Easy?
I'm traveling from the USA to Italy on multiple airlines. I'm flying into Frankfurt International Airport and need to fly out from Frankfurt Hahn. I was thinking that this would be easy since people fly on an International flight and then take a regional flight all of the time. But I can't seem to find an easy way to transfer airports. Is there? Are they practically the same building, just under different names? Or are they on completely opposite sides of the city like Milan Linate and Milan Malpensa? What is the best way to transfer airports? I don't know! Please help!
I'm afraid that you will getting a big problem because these two airports are not located at the same location.
The airport Frankfurt-Hahn is near Hahn and not near Frankfurt!
The distance from the international airport Frankfurt to the airport Frankfurt-Hahn is about 115 kilometers by car. I hope you have enough time between your two flights to make the transfer in time.
You can go by a combination of train and bus and will take between 1 hour 31 minutes and 2 hour 12 minutes depending on the connection. Additional to this time you have to add the time you will need to get your baggage, the custom, to go to the railway station, get your ticket and the waiting to the next train. There will be only one train each hour. And when arriving Frankfurt-Hahn you need enough time to check in and boarding.
I think you will need at least 5 hours between the touchdown of your first flight and the takeoff of the second, otherwise I suggest that you should change your reservation.
