most I know are fascinated with Australia so i think you will well lots to talk about.

Im American and I have been to both places. I lived in Germany and I have been to Syndey Australia as well and I can tell you that there is a LARGE difference in life styles from all three countries!!

It will not be a dissapointment i am sure. I loved BOTH countries very much, it just does not get as hot and you do not need all the sun block as you do is Australia. I remember Bondi beach and Manley beach and the sunburns my friends had.

In the baltic sea North Germany i got a sunburn but no where as bad as Australia. So I think you will do fine as long as you are out going and friendly and TRY YOUR BEST to speak German to people. They will respect you more if you try to learn as much as you can.

good travels!

Speaking for myself, I don´t know much about Australians.
When I think about Australia, I think of Koals bears, Didgeridoos (how do you write that?) and Boomerangs...or am I in the wrong continent ;-)...oh ja....and Aboriginals

I know (imagine Australian accent) nothing about Australians, but friends of mine 'ave been to Oz, an' they like you very much. And I'm on to www.kixcountry.com.au sometimes, just to hear the newspeople speak that wonderful Oz-trail-ee-ann dialect.

Don't get into history too much, just come over here, be prepared for a culture shock and snow in winter, but: Do it! You're welcome, KÄNGURUH!

Is there any Common links? Yes, & it's been said, (BEER,) However, I'v spent time in OZ, once or twice, I have also worked in Germany, it is appreciated if you try and pick-up some words in German, every one likes a tryer, noch ein bier bitte! selbst eine? you'll be fine, have fun.

from having worked in many primary schools in germany, i can tell you that all children in germany are fascinated with australia and the australians, because they seem to think that you live upside down. as for the general population in germany, there is no hatred for australia from the german nationals.
hope this helps!!!

well, we don't think anything bad about you, so you have nothing to worry about

Australians? Friendly, drink lots of beer, helpful, nice, drink lots of beer, communicative, drink lots of beer, smile often, have a nice accent and drink lots of beer :-)

You will like it here because I think german beer is considered to be quite good.

Other than that Australia is one of the countries where many germans would like to spend their life. Not just because of the beer attitude ;-)

i´d say we like it, a lot of poeple would like to travel there.....and that it is a continent very very far far far far away..........there was a tv serie used to be shown, a man travilling basicly alone throuh the country and telling you things about the land and the animals, and how to survive in the desert, how to cath a fish and so. (i cant remember the name) it was very popular.

opals come from australia, and nicole kidman too

well there are kangaroos and crocodiles and lots of underwaterworld, there are the aboriginees with a digeridoo and that those people are been treatet a little bit like the indians in the us.
