German Food - Can you tell me the name of this dish?

It is sort of like a big ball of bread (fist size), and it is covered in a thick mushroom cream sauce. Thanks a bunch!

Knödel mit Champignonsauce

Knödel = dumpling

Champignon = white mushroom

Sauce = Gravy (it is the French word, we use it in Germany with a German pronounciation)

Possibly a dumpling. But that's not truly just German.... I believe that is it though.

we call them semmelknoedel nothing other then stale bread milk eggs and spices

the ball of bread is called Knudel. The mushroom sauce they add on top is just sauce. No special name.. Piltz = Mushroom
