If google maps is correct you should be able to do it with the S- and U-Bahn. Are you staying in the holiday inn? From the airport get on S1 or S8 get off at Marienplatz, get on the U3 direction Furstenried West and get off at Machtlfingerstrasse, and, if the maps are correct go south on Machtlfingerstrasse until you get to Kistlerhofstrasse turn left on it and it should be there. It should cost around 10-20 euros. If you need more help finding your way and to buy the U-/S-bahn tickets go to the Traveller info stand which should be near the station in the airport. they speak english and are helpful. Bring some guide books and for sure get a map somewhere. Good luck and enjoy deutschland!

As said above their is generally an S-Bahn or U-Bahn you can take as well as buses that are cheap too.

Make sure you have a map too.

If you have friends there that would be great if they had an auto. So I would take the above suggestion if you are trying to save money.

Have fun

There's also a week-ticket for all the public transport. It's 11.50€, and it is valid from Saturday to the next Friday night or something, no matter when you bought it (E.G. you can buy it on Thuesday, but It's still only valid until Friday night. However, it will pay off if you're using only public transport for a couple of days, easily.)

Have fun in Munich!
