Acht = attention Pass Acht ! = Pay Attention !
Achtung ! = Caution ! Watch out !

"Aufmerksamkeit" is a noun, and must be spelled with a capital letter at the start, as all nouns in German language do.

"Aufmerksamkeit" means "ATTENTIVENESS"
(as could be seen on a job performance evaluation issue, or report card category perhaps)

"aufmerksam" is an adjective and it means "attentive" and so this word can be spelled with a lower-case letter "a" at the start of the word.

"Aufmerksamkeit" is pronounced in four distinct syllables,
not slurred together as other languages do
(it takes "muscle" to speak German)

"Auf" pronounced like the "cow" but without the letter "c" at the start, and with a letter "F" at the end

"merk" pronounced like air with an "m" at the start and a "k" at the end, "mairk"

"sam" pronounced like "sum" as in the word for total in mathematics or finance

"keit" pronounced like "kite" like pre-teen's toy, or Benjamin Franklins tool to discover electricity.

aufmerksamkeit means attention, it's pronounced as "off-merk-sam-keit"
