I'm Bavarian, and I find warm beer disgusting. Definitely.

Maybe Americans find our beer warm because we insist on a drinking temperature of 7°C, which is slightly above freezing point. Beer has to be chilled, but not frozen. It's about the nerves, you know. The taste nerves on your tongue. They only start working at 4°C or above, and 7°C is the best temperature to enjoy a tasty beer. At 0°C (freezing point) they could serve you dog's pee and you would swallow it, because tongue nerves don't work. (Your nose would reject it, but what if you have a cold and your nose don't work?)

nope Germans don't drink warm beer... they have a nicely chilled beer, just perfect, perhaps 44F or a tad cooler. Popular beers are lager/pilsner and weissbier. Ales and other exotic beers are served warmer... 50F, but you'd better ask a Brit in that case. And never ever ever add ice cubes to beer.... yuk

Another common misconception: Germans drink warm coke.....

I dont know about anyone over here drinking their beer warm. Whenever I order beer it is served cold, and thats the only way i like it

it aint just the germans
its belgium/ holland/ england etc.....too !

some brewers and drinkers feel you get more taste of the beer itself.
rather like red wine should be served at room temperature !
if you chilled it.........youre gonna taste the cold and less of the beer; and its likely to be gassier too !

tends to be the lagers and light beers served cold
the browns and gold beers generally are better warmer

another side issue.........is the cold beers started i think , in countries with warmer climates...........so a cold beer...went down well, on a hot day

the first mentioned countries dont enjoy that heat !

Ow my foot hurts
Its not frozen but definitely chilled.

Germans do not drink warm beer. They drink cool beer or in the summer when it is hot, a cold beer. I can normally offer a german a beer from my frig or a basement cooled beer. In the winter, most of my german friends want a basement cooled beer. In the hot summer, they would not turn down a beer from the frig.

Germans also have taste for beer. American beer for the most part is a weak pils.

Horse piss should be served cold lol
