The must-see-attractions for Berlin are:
Brandenburg Gate
Gendarmenmarkt (Openair Theaters and Classic Concerts)
Hackischer Markt (many Coffeeshops Clubs and Restaurants)
Alexanderplatz
Kufürstendamm (with exclusive Fashionstores)
Madame Tussaud's
Beate Uhse Erotic-Museum
O² Arena (Brandnew for Concerts and Sportevents)
Potsdam Sanssouci (Old stuff!)
Old Schultheiss Brewery
Beach Coffeeshops at the Spree-River (at Summertime there are Beachvolleyball Tournaments)
Jewish Museum
Museum Island in Berlin-Mitte
Museum for German Culture-History
Olympic Stadium (Football (Soccer) every Weekend)
Reichstag (German Parliament Building) and the Government District
You can visit the middle disctrict of Berlin called (Berlin-Mitte) and have these route:
Starting at the Reichstag and the new Government Buildings to Brandenburg Gate, ahead Street "Unter den Linden" to Museum Island and through Friedrichstrasse to Alexanderplatz.
It´s always interesting for tourists to take a ride with the S-Bahn (Overground-train) from Wannsee or Potsdam (southwest of the map) to Alexanderplatz. During this ride you can see many streets and buildings of specific architectonics from the 19th Century.

I've only been to Hamburg, of those cities you mentioned. There is a hotel on the Moenkeberg Strasse (right in downtown and close enough to walk or take a Bahn anywhere). It was a Hyatt brand hotel, very nice. Also check out vrbo.com. You can probably find affordable lodging with all the amenities of an apartment.
If you like the night-life scene check out st pauli. They do have a red light district (reeperbahn strasse) you may want to avoid if that is not your thing. There are lots of clubs around grosse freiheit.
There is lots of shopping around the moenkeberg str. And the rathaus is only two blocks away. I personally enjoyed eating at a cafe on the moenkeberg str. and just watched people. Check out the harbor as well. Right outside the Hyatt hotel there was a bratwurst stand that made the best currywurst. Also try a Doenner from a turkish kabob shop.
Just be careful. |

Depends how long you want to spend there and how you will travel inside the country. Hamburg and Munich are at opposite ends of the country.
For a first visit, you make like Bavaria in the south better, but you really need to research a bit first. Buy a guide book from your book store. There are just so many places and it depends what you're interested in.
[update] You may want to consider Berlin. |

Hello I am from Weimar. This is a nice place we got a lot of cultural things to see. E.g. the house of Goethe. As a festival I can recommend the Zweiball Market and for clubbing the local kitkat amusement center. |
