The Reeperbahn is part of the Red Light District and Entertainment Center in Hamburg ,nice to visit but I would not suggest to stay there for to long. How long are you planing to stay in the City? There are nicer and safer areas in Hamburg from where you also have easy access to all important points, like Museum's, Malls, Theater etc. Districts like Winterhude,Altona, Bergedorg,Wandsbek.Public Transportation like Subway and Buses are available 24/7.
Enjoy your stay.

It depends what u are looking for smile; Reeperbahn is the heart of the worlds biggest red light district. So if u want to party all night - that is fine. Also nice to party Schanzenviertel and St Georg´(gay).

Try to avoid hotels near the train stations.

I have been to Hamburg and that is the Red Light District with legalized prostitution. I am not sure you would want to stay there in that section of the city, It would depend on your lifestyle I suppose.

There are many other areas that are good and not near that district. I also recommend you do not stay at the Hotels directly next to the train station also, but that is just my opinion.

Viel Spass und Gluck!
