BTW Grafenwoehr might be far off everything but a few minutes (not hours!) will get you to great places that are really worth going...you'll enjoy it!

Graf may not be the end of the world but you can see it from there.

Except for the few places nearby if you want anything it is a 30 minute drive. They do have a huge American housing area which is great if you get along with the people you work with but sucks if your 1sg lives right next to you and you hate his guts. Because that fat slob has 3 cars he parks on my spot all the time. But hey cut out your brain put a smile on you face and come join us at the sheep ship throwing contest. My wife has won the Sheep and cow pie throwing contest 3 times in a row.

I can't help you with the question about GI wives, but here are a few things you will want to know about Graf.1.В You will eventually get used to the artillery fire in the distance.В They pop off enough orange flares at night, it looks like a monochromatic fireworks show.2.В Unless they've rerouted the trains, the nearest passenger station is in the town of Freihung.В It's maybe 20 km from the base.3.В If you see any cars on base with purple license plates with yellow lettering, they 're most likely US Embassy staff from Prague, Czech Republic, coming to the military facilities.В (Yes, you will be that far east.)4.В As time and your budget permit, get away from the base.

graph is better than vilseck....i must agree....at this post you dont want to be corrupted by the army wives....they are w h......ors for the most part....everyone is downrange....there is nothing to do in this area due to it being a training site....but the train runs everywhere in Deutschland....its also close to the border but dont drive your car will get stolen..enjoy the life of boredom....I was there for three years and I didnt see really nothing....There is nothing there. Its the armpit of the army and the backbone of the army in Europe....so yeah in my opinion it stinks....oh and watch the drinking over here. The clubbin will suck you in too.

It's good that you're excited to come to Germany, but GrafenwГ¶hr ist at the a$$ of the world like most army bases. You definitely need a car if you wanna go off post.
