Germans are much better informed about food than US-Americans, they like "proper" food, and the method of making chicken nuggets was explained on television, also the conditions those chickens are bred and reared in. Friggin' disgusting! So in the near future I can't see KFC getting anywhere in Germany. |

Simple answer , the germans are not like the americans. Fast food is not all in the world and we prefer an proper fried chicken from the barbecue. It' s the same with burger king, whimpy's or mcdonalds.
Help give me real food . |

I think it may have something to do with the fact that Germany has it's own "chicken chain", called Wienerwald.
Wienerwald restaurants are all over. They're not fast food places, though, more like cozy, family style restaurants. Most of them have an outside seating area for the summer. Their fired chicken is famous. I personally don't like chicken, but my friends who do assure me that Wienerwald makes the most fantastic chicken possible, and those of them who know both Wienerwald and KFC say KFC doesn't even begin to compare. |

KFC has not followed a strategy of establishing more outlets in Germany. It is simply a company decision. Perhaps later, the company would consider more stores in Europe just like they have in Asia. |

I lived in Germany for 7 months back in 1994. I lived in a small town north of Hamburg, there was no fast (junk) food in this town, only proper food.
becasue I can't cook, I used to buy from the next door resturant, Grilled Chicken, Salad, and mashed potatoe. Man!! you wont believe that I still have the taste in my moth!!
sice then I sopped eating junk food, MC Don., BK, KFC,...etc.
The morale of the story is: If you have proper food you will never go for Junk!!! |

Just like Japan! It is not normal to them to have that type of food. They are used to schnitzel and wurst and the like. Just like Japan, they eat sushi and pocky. The US eats MickyDee's and KFC and Olive Garden.
They just want to experience a new type of food. |
