How do I phone Germany from Canada?
The #'s are really weird and I'm not sure if I just dial them direct of if I have to put something in front of them. Can anyone help me?
So you dial whatever you have to put as international code in your country then 49 then the german area code plus the german number.
Alwin E
Dial +49,
then skip the first 0 on the German number,
and then dial as usual.
The + stands for your international "dial-out" code; it's 00 in most countries, but may vary on occasions.
Don't be confused, German phone numbers vary in length. That's normal. On a mobile, just enter the number as given and press "dial".

The dialing code from most of the countries to Germany is 0049.
BUT from Canada you need to dial 01149 and then drop the first 0 of the Telephone number.
This is really weird but I looked it up on several pages.

They are just not split up the way they are in Canada - and depending on where you call, there are less than 10 digits.
Mine is only 7 digits.
You dial
011 (your access to international calling)
49 (the country code for Germany)
the phone number you have (you most likely have a number which starts with a 0. You need to skip the 0 and the first number to dial is the one which is not a 0)
