How do I ship to Germany?

I am selling my first item on ebay, and the winning bidder is from Germany.

How do I ship it to him? I will be shipping from California.

It's a PC game in a box. What's the cheapest way to ship?

If you could give me step by step instructions, it would be nice.

Thank you!

I ship items everyday to countries like Germany for my ebay sales and I worked in the post office for 4 years and it just so happens that I also live in California so I can help. You have to go to the post office because they have a small form you need to fill out called a "customs form". I have about 30 of them I keep at home at one time that way I can fill them out before I go to the post office, but I still have to go to the post office because you cant just drop items in your mail box that are going across seas, they have to be checked in at the post office. Theres many different ways you can ship it, depending on how fast you want it to get there and how much your customer paid for shipping. You should just go to the post office with it and ask them but I usually send items first class to germany which will take a couple weeks (the more stuff you ship together, the longer it takes because they open the stuff up at customs in germany and check it all before allowing it in the country). It will take between 2-3 weeks (sometimes 1 month if it gets stuck in customs)....There are other more expensive options for shipping if you want it to get there faster, just ask them at the post office counter. If I were you I would buy a postal scale if you plan on selling all the time, you can find them for cheap on ebay. Then use the scale at home to weigh your items and calculate shipping at usps.com that way if its not international, you can just drop it in a mailbox and if it is international, you can get an idea of how much it will cost to ship so you can list the shipping price on your ebay listing so the customer will pay for it. Anyways you should just go to the post office, fill out a custom form and tell them you want to ship it first class.

will help you. And, yes, you will have to fill out a customs form. Make it 20 dollars and a "gift", that's best for PC games. And, no, I'm not getting into another discussion which country's customs you're actually cheating.

Holy Toledo Batman!!! That's something you should have thought before. Maybe the best way is via mail. Depends on weight, and and the speed of delivery. Here in Philippines all heavy things go by boat... but your game is light, so I'd suggest DLH (DHL?) Have fun.

You can send it with UPS, DHL or Fed Ex.
Ask at the Post office which one is not so expensive and how long it's take to get in Germany.

acid tongue
use FED EX, it is not the cheapest, but you know it gets there.
