500 should get you high for quite a looooong time as it is fairly inexpensive. Don´t take the first offer on the street though, go into some coffee shops and shop around for at least 2 days if you really want to invest that much money at once. BUT remember that once you cross the border into another country your chances of getting frisked are quite high - high or not :-D And the WILL take it and they WILL press charges for trafficing, especially for that much.
So just get a decent hotel, go out for good food and good smokes while you´re there and enjoy

As you have just been told - in German - Amsterdam is in the Netherlands - not Germany. By the way - although the Dutch may turn a blind eye to some drugs it is still illegal. Possession of $500 worth would send you to jail.
