It really depends upon what area you are going to. It might already be snowing in Bavaria and the Black Forest gets pretty cold early too. It most likely will be raining pretty much everywhere, we don't see much sun after September (this year we haven't seem much sun since July). Dress in layers, it will be pretty cold but the temperatures can change several times a day. Everyone is saying that this will be a colder than usual Fall and Winter because cool temperatures already started setting in during August. The Germans are really into layering, the kids (boys and girls) wear thick tights under their clothing, and a lot of the adults wear them too, or thermals. And they usually have an undershirt, shirt, sweater and jacket or coat on, you can peal off some of the layers if you get too hot. That's how we dress our daughter and she manages to keep pretty warm. I'm trying to think about the sunset. Currently it's about 8:45. I'm not sure when the time change occurs this year. But once it does happen the days seem really short and dark. |

It's pretty similar to November in the northern US: usually cold and snowy. It gets dark early, like about 5:00. |

A lot of rain, temperatures can be all between -5C and +15C. Up in the north it's generally cooler, whereas in Munich you can be lucky and get a so-called "Foen"-Day - this is a warm wind coming from Italy, blowing over the Alps and falling down into the plains north of the Alps. You can sit outsuide with a beer than at 25C. But that happes more in spring.
Sun comes up at about 7.30am and sets about 4.30pm.
www.accuweather.com and www.weather.com should provied ggod information as well. Also www.wetteronline.de, but that's a german site. |

November is the rainy season, rain rain rain and more rain, but not all that cold, but rain...oh my god it rains here from October til February. Bring an umbrella...they're expensive here |
|

oh really

It usually cold, but there is a heatwave going on right now who knows what it will be like this year. It's usually raining for at least half the week. And it also depends on what part of Germany you're referring to. Like in the US, northern Germany will be colder than, let's say, Bavaria. It's the same with the light. The farther south you go, the longer the days are. I was in Hessen in November and it got dark around 8pm. (Hess is in the South). |

Choose the cities from this list for the historical weather averages: http://www.weatherbase.com/weather/city.php3?c=DE&refer=
Hope that helps! |

It's probably the most depressing month of the year. As stated above, the sun comes up at 7:30 and goes down at 17:00. It's usually rainy/snowy/sleety and you'll need to refill your windshield washing fluid once a week due to the slush on the roads.
Avoid at all costs - and for all here in Germany, it's the best month to get on a plane to the Mexico. |
