Look at the seasonal weather forecast. It RARELY gets so cold in november / december....it seems like the winters are getting milder and milder. People still sit outside and have a drink while its sunny and cold.
The high for November (average) is usually around 42 F / 6 C
and the low temp in November is 35 F/ 1 C
For December the high (average) is 35 F / 1 C and the low (average) is 25 F / -4 C |

Well, I hate November weather.
It is true that it is usually colder in January or February, but the weather in November can be wet, cold and windy - yuck! The wet cold makes you want to go home and cuddle up in front of the fire with sweets and hot tea. I much rather have 25 Fahrenheit and sun in January than November at 40 Fahrenheit with fog and rain.
An additional downside of going in November is that many tourist attractions are closed. For quite a few places the tourist season ends on Oct 31st, then everything is shut down. The outdoor seating for cafes and beergardens is removed from the streets, the amusement parks close for winter, etc.
And the next big event in tourism (the Christmas markets) aren't until December. |

You need to check the long range forecasts, it is not like it used to be, not as cold. Generally, it should be around the 30's Fahrenheit (they use Celsius now). Not too cold really and it will be dry (unless it is too warm and the snow turns to rain), as it is the winter and the skiing season if you have time to get down to the alps.
Should be between -10 and +10 Centigrade, even at night and even then it will be okay outside, they don't get many strong winds.
January and February are the coldest months. |
