How many hours from Heidelberg to Amsterdam?

Anyone ever driven from Heidelberg/Mannheim area to Amsterdam? I am wondering how many hours the drive is.

Depending on the time (I personally prefer driving during the night) depending on how much traffic and last not least which route you chose.
The fastest I ever did was 3and a half hours.
I don't think you can make it in less than 4 hours during the day.

I take the train one time from Frankfurt to Amsterdam almost driving 4 hours. From Heidelberg I think the same 3,5-4 hours.

About 4, if you are going soon keep an eye out for the weather and plan on a lot of construction to slow you down when you drive north.
