Nobody can answer this since the price for goods are not fixed Germany is no communist state.
It varies a lot between shops and also from region to region.
EDIT
T Maia is a gamepointer who reports 100% correct answers to get the BA her self !! |

Maia is always correct.
She knows all since she is working with a well known GDR company called 'Stasi' which is very famous to know everything about everybody. |

9. Lettuce
Please be as nice to spell the English word correctly, if you want a nice translation. Use a dictionary to translate the words.
I had to laugh about #6, tomatos, as there are Strauchtomaten, Fleischtomaten, Kirschtomaten, Cocktailtomaten, grüne Tomaten, gelbe Tomaten, holländische und spanische Tomaten...
#7 is easy, a Bavarian pretzel (Brezn) costs about 30 eurocents.
And if this is for your homework, you always have to specify the quantity before asking how much some thing costs:
"Wie viel kostet... ?"
1. ein Kilo Kartoffeln
2. ein Pfund Käse
3. ein Liter Milch
4. eine Stange Wurst (Salami) or: ein halbes Pfund Aufschnitt (mixed sausage)
5. ein Laib Brot
6. [see above]
7. eine Brezel
8. ein Pfund Äpfel
9. ein Kopf Salat
10. ein Bund Trauben
Talking about traditional units, I almost forgot abot the difference between "ein paar" ("Ich hätte gerne ein paar Würstchen" - I would like to have a couple of small sausages) and "ein Paar" ("Ich hätte gerne ein Paar Wiener" - I would like to have two Frankfurters). Yes, the capital letter makes a difference here, but the pronounciation is the same. And as in Munich, the tradition is that Weißwürste are not eaten in even numbers, if you ask for "ein [p]aar Weißwürste", you'll be unavoidably asked, "how many?", even if you meant just two. A decent answer would be "fünf" (five), showing up the fingers of your right hand as a sign of peace. |

1. Potatos 2.5 kgs 1-2 EUR
2. Cheese 200g package of slices 1 EUR
3. Milk 1 litre 0.50 EUR
4. Sausage 200g package of cuts for sandwich 0.60 - 2 EUR
5. Bread loaf of 1 kg 0.60 EUR (cheapest crap at the supermarket) to 6 EUR (full organic from the bakery)
6. Tomatos (depends on the season, 1 EUR to 6 EUR per kg)
7. Pretzels (depends where, 0.40 EUR to 2 EUR)
8. Apples 1kg 1 EUR to 2.50 EUR
9. Lettuce (which kind?, 0.30 EUR to 2 EUR for one head is common )
10. Grapes depends upon season, 1 kg 2-4 EUR
If this is asking how expensive Germany is, you should budget around 5-10 EUR per day and person for food if you self-cater. And if you travel, bring at least 50 EUR per day and person, with 100 EUR per day and person being more realistic. |
