2.5 is totally wrong. The prices for Kinderausweis indeed vary from town to town and very important kids do not get an id (personalausweis) until they are 16. gosh why people have to drop glues even they do not got one

The same as an adult one because of the biometric stuff. Around 35 euros, but prices vary between communities. And if you're an adult and have your children registered in your passport, they won't probably need an "Ausweis" at all.

Euro 8.00 for the Personalausweis valid in Europa.
For other travel a passport cost Euro 37.50 in all of Germany (§15, Paßverordnung).
To add a child to the parent's passport is no longer possible after 1 November 2007.
