The current postage for a postcard from Germany to the US is 1 Euro.
A standard Letter is 1.70 Euro, up to 20 grams and 2 Euro for up to 50 grams.
You must use Euro denominated postage stamps from Germany, so giving the amount in dollarrs is not useful, since it can change, and you cannot affix dollar denominated stamps, anyway.

I don't know the current price. I grew up in germany and moved to the US 2 years ago. It depends how you wanna send it (airmail or what) but yeah it's different than a postcard. Just contact your local post office. They can tell you
