J10

How much is this, it is written differently than US currency.?

DM 30.000,

Is this 30 or 30,000?

Thirty or Thirty Thousand? Or some other amount?

I'm not sure how they denote numbers in Germany.

thirty thousand.

Germans use dots and commas reversed, so 30.000,00 means thirty thousand and zero cents.

But we don't have DM anymore. We pay in Euros (EUR or €).

The minor unit to the Deutsche Mark (DM or DEM) used to be the Pfennig (plural: Pfennige). 1 DM = 100 Pfennige.

CheGuevara
30.000,00 or 30.000,- DM = thirty thousand Deutsche Mark

The Euro replaced the DM (and other European currencies) as the official currency in Germany (and other European states) in 2002.

30,000.00 DM
= 15,388.76 Euros (Exchange rate 2002)
= 19,916.13 US$ (Exchange rate 17-03-2009)
