I'm an American living in Germany for the past 7 years. I work for the U.S. Government so that was my ticket here. If you're English you might consider getting an Embassy job or find British companies working out of Germany. If you're not German, it's pretty tough to get a well-paying job unless you speak fluent German and have a degree. There are some companies in Germany that seek english-speakers to teach english to Germans, but those barely pay enough to live on. There is always the old-fashioned way and that's to marry a German looking for an english-speaking husband. Believe me, there are lots of them over here. Hope this helps and good luck!

@sirkusro...: Colin is EU-citizen ... He takes a 0 Euro ticket from Ryan Air and looks for a job. There is no necessity to marry a German girl.

Learn German.

I just met two brits here who are making a go of it. They are taking intensive german classes and starting to teach english to make an income.

Well, I did not say it was going to be easy . . .

Why Germany? Why not somewhere warmer and more enticing like Australia? The US is great too as is Canada. What's wrong with you?
