I'm going to Berlin with my group. Does anyone one know what to get in from HbtBahnhof to 'museumsisland

i know that there is a branderburg ticket, which cost 24E and enables to travel for 1day for five people. Does anyone know whether there is something for 30people too? Unfortunatelly is a trip with our head teacher. And he asked me to learn, how to go from Main Railway station to the most famous museums on the island.

Sbahn from Hauptbahnhof to Hackescher Markt. The station is elevated. Leave the station by the door nearest to the Irish pub and turn right. You go across a bridge and you are on Museum Island. Watch out for trams! Check out www.jbb7994.com

If you're going from the Hamburger Bahnhof to Museumimsel, there's no real need to buy a pass, it's maybe a 10-12 block walk. If you're coming from the Ostbahnhof or Lehrter Bahnhof (which I think if the new Hbf in Berlin), take the S-bahn to Hackescher Markt and you'll be across the river from the National Gallery.

There is a tourist information in the central station (Hauptbahnhof) at the ground flor. They will give you all informations about the sights in Berlin, they are friendly and speak English very well.

You don't have to buy the Brandenburg Ticket.

The best for travel inside Berlin is "Kleingruppenkarte Berlin ABC". It allows you to travel with 4 other people inside the ABC-zone of Berlin with Subway (U-Bahn), Urban Rail (S-Bahn), Regional Trains, Busses and Trams for only 15,-€
You can buy it at the white-blue ticket vending machines with Touch Screen inside the stations.

Since you mentioned that the group is arriving in the newly opened Hauptbahnhof all you need to do is take the elevator or escalator to the upper floor and get in any *S-Bahn* travelling east. When you have a train ticket the initial ride is free, part of the ticket.

Ride the S-Bahn two stops to the *Hackescher Markt,* get out from the back side and walk about three minutes. You'll see the buildings on the other side of the river. BTW, with luggage it is a bit too far to walk from the Hauptbahnhof the the Museum Insel.

Happy travels
