Here are some great places to visit anytime while you're in Germany!:
1) K-Town!! (Kaiserslautern)
2) Ramstein
3) Saarbruchen
4) Speyer
There are a few towns along the French border that are only about 45 minutes away from Vogelweh AB or Ramstein AB, like Saarbruchen & Trier! |

I would for sure go to a castle called Neustwestien. It is really cool and your kids would enjoy, since I enjoyed it when I was ten years old.
Also I would go to the Salt Mines in Salzburg. In them you take a tour which includes going down 50 foot wooden slides that the miners used. In the tour you also board a boat to cross an underground lake.
Hope that helped! |

Honestly, there is nothing special you will need to bring. I was there a couple of months ago. All I brought: clothes, camera, passport, and money. What else is there in a civilized Western country? The weather is nice right now so you won't need to pack any heavier clothes....pack like you would for anywhere in the U.S., with the exception of more money and a passport. |

I lived in Germany for three years and it is the most beautiful country and the people are very nice. They loved to be asked about their country, however do not bring up Hitler or those times. They are very ashamed of that era and do not like to talk about it. Also, the restaurants there are very small and cozy and most are kid friendly....when my kids were there they were very young and the staff would simply come and take them and dance and talk with them after they ate. I envy you because what I wouldn't give for some roulatten, spatzle and bleu kraut! Have fun girlfriend! |

That's a pretty broad question I was born there and lived there for the first 10 years of my life. My mom goes home to visit once a year. I would say visit the castles they are beautiful the mountains if your there are beautiful Get a travel guide so you can see what interests you! The little things to us like the water tower for example will amaze you my water tower in my home town is beautiful when I moved here and saw this one I was like wow ours is pretty lol
Ours had staris nice arcitecture a statue on top ect.
One piece of advice if your planning on drinking while your there beware alcohol level is much higher over there. There's more alcohol in a beer than there is here for example also EAT.I miss german food It's just not the same here. Try some and you'll see what I mean even the bread
Hope I helped like I said I dont know where your going so your best bet would probably to look up the area your in or going to to find something that interests you. It would proably be a good idea also to buy a german/english dictionary so you can communicate when you need to |

When are you going "October", that's the time. Christmas season is awesome as well. I'd take a trip up around Mainz and Weisbaden myself. Two great cities, me and the wife loved shopping in both areas. Plenty of tourist stuff as well and you can travel the Rhine there. |

i lived just outside Stuttgart for over a year. Go see the museums and castles. The country is slap full of history. The autobahn takes some getting used to : ) There was usually a festival going on somewhere and the food was great! |

Whatever you do, DON'T fly into Frankfurt airport. I was there back in June and we all get stranded because of an electrical storm and frankly, most of the employees were rude and unhelpful.
Also, don't fly Lufthansa. Even by airline standards, their food sucks. |
