Hey there, I've camped in Germany in Koln, Bonn, Morfelden (sucks) and Konigsee. Both Koln and Bonn were pretty cool, but don't visit places on a Sunday because things are mainly shut. Bonn was a university city so more vibrant and trendy. Konigsee is a beautiful lake and we climbed a huge mountain there which was cool. Berlin is supposed to be amazing and Munich too. There's this place in Munich I saw on TV where you can stay in this huge communcal tent and you get blankets, bedroll etc and I think free breaky. It's only 7-8euro a night I think. It's called The Tent, look it up, it looks like a fun experience.
June will be pretty warm, especially in the south. Take a pair of jeans, hoodie, skateshoes/sneakers, flip flops, denim skirt, shirts, singlets and maybe a jacket. You always tend to walk a lot when you travel so comfy shoes are a must.
Most people speak English in germany so unless you feel like trying out your Deutsch skills, just don't worry. Guten Tag is Good day, Auf Wiedersen is goodby and Danke is thank you - they're probably the essentials.
Have fun!! You should go to Italy some time, it is my favourite place so far in Western Europe. Such great food and coffee, and CHEAP wine and alcohol.
Good luck!

Hope you understand that Germany is hosting FIFA - World Cup Soccer (World's most popular sport) that month - you will be among so many foreigners in major cities, you might be wondering if you are in Germany at all!
