Actually, the Court Room in Nuremberg where they had the trials is I think open for visitors. Yes, see website below - the english version doesn't have the opening hours on there, they need to fix that page!
You can see many other museums of the City of Nuremberg on that page.
The German National Museum is also very wonderful to visit to get a good overview of all kinds of art. And the human rights display is also very impressive.
Of course the Reichsparteitag Gelaende/Nazi Party Rally Grounds is a most see - really freaky to stand in the spot were Hitler used to direct the fanatic masses - really made me hate him even more.
Of course, old downtown Nuremberg, with its medival emporers castle (Nuernberger Burg), and longest city wall in europe (despite having to be rebuild after the war of course) is fascinating and the numerous bars, pubs and restaurants in and outside of the old downtown make it a perfect place to visit.
Cemeteries, historic and other just old, are also very nice to visit, many trees.
If you are into public pools - my favorite one is the Stadium Bad, next to the soccer stadium and part rally grounds - but probably not so easy to get too during the soccer championship.
Let me know if you have any questions. |

In Nuremberg, do not go in court and have a trial there. |

Oh, my area of expertise! I've been to Europe five (?) times in ten years. Munich- main plaza. Drive down to Andechs and sample the world-famous beer. Or take a train down to Garmisch-Parkens and hike in some mountains. Wander around Munich and you'll find tons of stuff to do--the museums are very nice. Stuttgart..Munich's my favorite my far. Have a lieberkasse sandwich in the open markets. And do the normal touristy stuff. It's fun. |
