Prague is a wonderful city in the Czech Republic, and spending a New Year's Eve there will sure be wonderful. I know the Czech capital well, I've often been there in summer [not THIS sumer, couple of years ago]. Walk the center of the town; I guess it will be rather overcrowded by tourists, as usual. Never mind, just wear some warm clothes, and party in the streets.
As to Germany, you should be more specific of where you're planning to go. It's a whole country, and it makes a lot of a difference if you're going to Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, or a small village in the Black Forest.
The Wikipedia contains information about almost every somewhat important town in Germany, although the information in the English Wikipedia sometimes is not very accurate and partly outdated, whereas the information in the German Wikipedia keeps being edited by locals and is biased by their preferences. But at least for larger cities, the information in both the WIkipedias seems quite accurate. |
