The Court house has a wonderful clock that is like a BIG Coo Coo Clock that is active every hour.

The Deutsche Museum is OUTSTANDING.. You just need time because it is VERY BIG....

August is vacation time in Germany, so Munich will be a little empty, which is a great time to tour it. You won't have to wait in lines and can get better rates at hotels. Get any guidebook to find places. The best place is downtown in the old city Altstadt. The Glockenspiel is best seen at 11 in the morning when it goes off. Climb up Alte Peter (Old Peter) and view the city, plus go up the Frauenkirche for a great view.

The district of Schwabing is quite nice with many Cafes and such. The park is a big hit. Go to a grocery store, buy food and beer and wine, camp out in the park for the evening, find another group of people and join them, and have a wonderful time. This is the best secret site for good info about Munich.

Check out the Hofbräuhaus beer hall and the Olympic Stadium - neither should be missed.

Have fun!
