As previous answers stated it is rather common to befriend with women for German men so unless there is a real reason don't be jealous that is a big turn off to most men!
If a German guy is serious with you you will know that since he than will want to live with you present you to his friends and family and later marry you.
BTW what has your question got to do with Frankfurt??

Just having "friends" of the other sex is really normal for German guys and girls. However, if you have not been together with him for that long, I understand your feelings completely. How long has he been friends with her? Have you talked to him about her (not in the way that you tell him how you feel about her yet, just about how he got to know her, how long he knows her, and so on)?
However, the question of "is A German guy really serious..." is just like asking if all guys on earth are serious in their relationships. There are numerous eggs out there, you don't find out if the one you have is foul until you crack the shell and see the inner side of it. It all depends on that particular guy and the particular relationship the two of you have. Best is to ask questions about her and the friendship they have, and than judge for yourself if you need to be concerned. After all, you know the guy a darn lot better than we do. |

I am married to a German man. Here it is very common for men to befriend women. My husband even stayed very close friends with his ex-girlfriend of 8 years.
The issue is not who he is friends with, but that of trust, and if you can fully trust him. In a relationship you must trust him regardless of what situation he is in. And if you can't than I would really deeply reflect on the status of your relationship.
Try talking to him about how you feel. My husband used to have girl friends stay the night, once I explained that in my culture it was perceived in a different manner and was bothersome to me, he was very understanding and considered my feelings in the future. |
