My cat Jake owns me

I am a US Citizen who is in Germany on a travel visa (I have been here for 60 of the 90 days) and want to stay

I wand to stay in Germany. I know I would have to
1-get a job or
2-get married
3-take an intensive German language class
None of these options are possible for me.
Does anyone know what I can do?
Could I leave the country and go to a non EU country like Switzerland? If so, how would I get a new stamp on my passport?

4-Get a job as a civilian with the US-Army/Air Force. Those people stay in Germany without a visa.

Dr.Seuss
I am not sure wether you have to return to the U.S. first or if it is also possible to go to another country and get a new visa from there. Switzerland woul definittly not be an option. If possible you need to go as far as Marocco or any other african couintry or mayby Turkey. Russia might be an option to but it's hard to get a visa for Russia. Ask at the american embasy or consulate.

well, you must have Internet accessibility so what you would do is look up the name of the place you got your pass port from and click on pass port info and see how to extend... they have us embassies in foreign countries so there is one around. find it and go to it.. they can extend it there

My visa has been issued by the German Consulate, could I use this visa to make a sidetrip to other European countries (for example to France or Austria)?

Yes , you can. According to the Schengen agreement, visas are also valid for Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.
Please note, however, that you always have to apply at the consulate of the country which is your primary destination.
If you intend to visit several of the above-mentioned countries but do not have a primary destination, you should apply at the consulate of the country which is your first point of entry.

just stay and keep a low profile...there is a thing called the "visa-waiver program" which entitles U.S. citizens to stay in the E.U. without a visa....of course, you couldn´t work legally, unless you applied for a German tax number....I have been here for 5 years without any worries about being deported...I even had to apply for a new passport 2 years ago..and received it with no questions asked...currently I have not a single stamp in my passport and when authorities ask me, I am just a tourist...the German language is hard to learn, but it will eventually grow on you (plus most Germans like to work on their english with us who don´t speak this native tongue fluently...if you want to be legit, you can travel to non-E.U. countries (Switzerland, Norway, Morocco, Turkey (although you will need to pay about $65 for a visa)and and ask for a stamp at the border (you must ask for this)...and you can return to Germany the next day ...

Thumphale is correct, i lived in Germany for several years without a visa and never had a problem, as long as you dont plan on working or getting social assistance dont sweat it. I used to cross the German border all the time and half the time the German border police wouldnt even stamp my passport. They really are not bothered by Americans hanging out as long as you dont create problems. If anyone asks just tell them your a tourist...

Actually it might be possible to stay longer. Temporary residence
permits don't require you to have a job. They require you to not
be dependent on social welfare and to have a reason to stay.
Reasons can be: Employment, self-employment, family issues,
studies. However the key parts in it are: can you finance yourself
during the stay and do you have a health insurance. You need to
proof both.

You will have to return to the US, you might want to try for an extension on your visa at an embassy.

UpNorthDownSouth
you go to the German embassy ther in germany and get a new visa, or you can also go to switzerland and get the german visa from the german embassy in switzerland.
