Regular German universities don't teach in english.
Without knowing any German it won't be easy to fulfill the registration requirements for the university.
It's much better to take a class and get a basic knowledge about the German language before you start to study there.

kengoller is absolutely right. I don't know where the others
get their information from. A wild guess. Right out of their
asses. Public universities teach in german only. There're a
few courses here and there that are held in english. But
that's the exception. And I have to disagree with Hans.
German isn't easy. If you know english it's not that hard to
get to a level where people can understand you. But that
an studying are two completely different things.

That's the whole point. Notice how you used the word "study"? There are plenty of English speaking Germans who will take you under their wing. You'll be goose stepping in no time. German is surprisingly easy to learn.

NaturalBornKieler
You will have difficulties without German language. If you are prepared to learn German it will work, but with English alone I don't think you can study here, I have not heard of many lectures given in English.

Sami
Yes, its the best place to learn too becuase majority of the people know at least a little bit of english, they are so nice and easy to get along with.

All German universities expect their students to have a good knowledge of German, you won't be accepted unless you pass a test if you are a foreigner. If you have Afrikaans it should not be too hard for you to get there, although the German grammar is way more complicated than anything you would be accustomed to.

Depends what subject you want to study. But there are many possibilities to learn German, e.g. at the Goethe-Institute which is in every German citiy and in most of the bigger ones in South Africa. I would advise you to learn German first and then come and study, it will make things much easier for you!!

russia
I think you can if you speak a very good english I know that in France there ars many universities have many programes in english and I think that Germany have the same and in Egypt there is a Germany university teach in both english and german
