You should go to the sagrida famillia cathedral in barcelona, as well as Guell Park which was designed by Gaudi. If you have a chance you should also visit the fountain show at the palace in Barcelona. If you want pure cheese visit Llorett de Mar which is pure unadulterated trashyness, but will give you a good night out. There is a cocktail hut on the beach which does 5 litre strawberry daquiris!

In France you should visit Marsellian plage which is an amazing beach resort in the south of france.

I know you have not mentioned visiting the UK but you really should. London is a must see as is Bath and Edinburgh is fantastic.

The Netherlands are also an amazing place, Amsterdam has a lot of culture such as the anne frank museum and a very interesting sex museum! and the City of Nijmegan is amazing and in easy reach of Arnhem which is where Audrey Hepburn was raised and was the scene of operation market garden. (A bridge too far!)

In France, Paris is essential. Tonnes of things to do in the city yet it's a wonderful place to just stroll around. A half day trip to Versaille is definitely worth the effort.

In Germany, I think Munich is the best place. It has a great vibe and lots of good museums, architecture etc. Also lots of beer and massive portions of pork.

In Spain, don't miss Barcelona. It has a wonderful beachy atmosphere combined with some amazing medieval buildings and underground roman city remains. You have to try the paella and the sangria. Also some absolutely amazing buildings by the architect Gaudi which are mind blowing.

Read some history books about the areas you are planning on visiting.

I went to Germany, Austria, and Czech Republic last year. My best advice is to learn a few key phrases in each language. Get a "Steves" translation book for each language....they are great.

As far as travelling, I'd love to return to Dresden, Germany again. I had a wonderful time there. If you go, a stop at the Frauenkirche (Church of the Ladies) is a must see!

As far as travelling, have you looked into the EuroPass? You can travel nearly anywhere/anytime thruout Europe via rail. The ICE (Inner City Express) trains are awesome...smooth as glass and fast...about 125-150mph!

p.s. If you have a trunk big enough, I'd be more than happy to go along and be your personal tour guide :-)

Visit Berlin! Visit Madrid and Barcelona! Go also to central europe (Prague, Budapest, ...)

In France you will probably get ript of in Paris. Don't have expensive meals there. Personnaly I don't like paris too much.

In Germany there is so much to see
But don't forget Belgium (Bruges), Italy (Firenze, venice) and Prague (Chech)

All these countries are accessible with your Schengen visum.

In Europe you can have cheap flights, from 50 EUR and less

Look on www.germanwings.be or www.ryanair.com

As much as you possibly can, although it takes more than one trip to Europe to be able to see everything.

Spain: Hit the big cities and cathedrals, don't miss the coast for the mediterranean.

Germany: Munich and Berlin are pretty cool cities and give a good north versus south Germany feel, because the people and landscape do change a lot from north to south. Berlin also gives you somewhat the old east germany feel in parts.

France: Paris and Normandy give a good feel of both the city and country.

I echo the remarks about Berlin but you could also try the Rhine and Mosel valleys (use Koblenz as a base). On the Mosel Cochem and more particularly Trier are not to be missed.

The big cities; Barcelona, Berlin and Paris. Have fun, you'll never forget it.

In Germany take a boat down the Rhine River - it is beautiful and you pass many medievil castles. Stay in Bacharach if you can, it's a very cute town.

In France if you have a rental car go to the Dordogne region and stay in Beynack. It is one of the most beautiful tiny towns in all of Europe. From here you can go to several other quaint villiages and see prehistoric caves.

I highly suggest using Rick Steves books and video, Europe through the Backdoor.
