Kumar

I can't locate the mountain Harz IV on the map. Where is it?

Hello I am Kumar from university of Ahmedabad and I found now several times the word Harz IV in a German newspaper. I think that is a very famous mountain in the Harz but I can't find it on my map. Even not on google

Haha, what a joke! Harz IV is huge, but not a mountain. Try again!

not a mountain
the harz are a range of mountains in northern ( west ) germany....but i am not aware of one called IV or 4 !
the brocken is the highest point in germany
i stayed in bad harzburg, and hiked them !

however, pretty sure the HARZ IV that you refer to will be the the german labour reforms ( after the findings of a commission chaired by peter harz ! ).......in 2002.........and since it is ongoing til 2010 thats why it will be in the news all the time !

you can find this yourself if you search yahoo webpage or wikipedia !

Hartz IV has to do with long term unemployment benefits and welfare benefits.

It's not a mountain. At least, it is not a mountain that one would climb. If you are on Hartz IV, it might be difficult to climb out of it.
