Hello George ,
I think the first answer is a good one .
I 'd like to add that all German criminal records show criminality is remarkably higher in the immigrant population than the local German one.
Some people claim this is due to some criminal offenses a German can't commit since they are offenses against the so called 'Ausländerrecht'.
As always statistics remain a problem since you can read them the way you want or need !
BTW Frankfurt has the highest percentage of immigrants but it is not 30% but almost 25% . No German city has 30% at least not until now.
EDIT:
@Alvin sory if facts make you angry if you read my anser carefully I told to be carefull with statistics !!
BTW I work for Frankfurt Police depatement so belive me I do know what I am talking about !!
What in your eyes is significantly higher? if you tell me I will tell you the exact percentage of criminality German and Immigrant population !!
If you need for every single nationality but I bet some people on here would be shocked about the truth !! |

yes Frankfurt is very dangerous. There is a guy with a beard and he stole already three sheeps of mine when I just put them in front of the supermarket to buy some groceries. I will leave that city and go to Rödelheim. I just found a nice butcher there today |

The high crime rate may well be attributed to 30 % of foreign nationals that live in Frankfut and in other German cities as well. Some Germans, could also be involed in this high crime rate,it would be interesting to know the percentile of the Germans. |

Frankfurt has its problem areas, but it is still incredibly safe. It might have Germany's highest crime rate, but this is Germany and crime isn't much of a problem here. It regularly gets ranked as one of the safest cities in the world, and wandering around everywhere in the city, even the "bad" areas, is perfectly safe and likely extremely relaxing.
however is Central Railway Station is the worst area in Frankfurt City. |

> German criminal records show criminality is remarkably higher in the immigrant population
Petra, you're right with the stats. Count out those crimes that can only be committed by immigrants (violation of immigration laws, for example), their crime rates are not very much higher than the native population's. It makes me angry that these figures ALWAYS are misrepresented in the tabloids. (I once did the maths for Berlin; shouldn't be different in Frankfurt.)
Frankfurt has a bit of a problem with drug-related crime, that's true. And I don't know how many crimes commited by the management of Frankfurt-located banks find their way into the stats. |
