I want to move to Baden Wurttemberg, Germany in the Spring, how do I find a job and and apartment?

I would prefer to live and work in Heidelberg, but I will consider anywhere in the region.
Additional Details
I am an American who has dual citizenship in Germany.

I have a degree in Fine Arts with a background in photography, but my current job is medical, administrative, and PR related, so I have a lot of areas that I could go into. The most difficult part is that my German is not perfect. I am working on it now, but I am moving to Germany to learn.

Hey Girl,

I am in Germany but not from Baden Wurttemberg area. There is an Army base in Heidelberg which often offers jobs on the internet though. You might wanna try that. As for Apartments I would recommend to check the local newspaper for that area or check the internet.

@t_maia2000: you're talking some sort of crap. Sorry!!!
There is a great unemployment in Germany and only low-paid jobs are probably available. If you're lucky though.
As long as your German is not good you can forget it and only apply for jobs which are less paid - countless overtime hours included (either unpaid or paid with higher taxes than the normal tax rates are = up to nearly 50% taxes which go off). Payable apartments? Forget it! There are lots of them but nobody can afford. You better share with someone.
@lovely: great suggestion. As you're an American you better try to find a job and apartment at the US army. You might be much luckier!
Believe me, coz I'm a German and living in Baden-Württemberg and know both the job and the apartment problems!

First, what is your nationality and what kind of job will you be looking for? Are you coming as a student to Heidelberg University? Non-EU citizens need residency and work permit, which are very hard to get and in most cases need to be applied for from home.

Baden-Wuerttemberg is expensive, it is difficult to find small and cheap appartments. Rooms for students can be found easily, but if you want a flat you'll be paying through the nose for it. On the upside it could be easy to find a job there as unemployment is relatively low compared to the rest of Germany.

For finding a place to rent, you can look at http://www.immoscout24.de to get a feel what is on offer and what you'll have to pay.

Edit:

If you hold German citizenship moving to Germany will be piece of cake. Since you know German you can look at http://www.arbeitsagentur.de and http://www.moster.de for job offers. Be aware that you'll have a better chance finding something once you are there. As German citizen you are entitled to social welfare (ALG II, 347 EUR per month plus rent for a cheap flat, health insurance included), so you'll have your basic needs covered no matter what. The social welfare and employment office (ARGE) will also arrange for you to take classes in German (Integrationskurs) once you are recieving benefits from them.
