If you are in Germany for a limited vacation, what is the best sightseeing? Value for money/time?

I will be visiting for 2 weeks. If you have been somewhere and you know it is a well known place - but not worth going to, please let me know. We don't mind traveling, so wherever is fine. Not one particular area. We will be there in November if that limits a touristy place please let me know that too. Thank you for any help.

If you are interested in having fun and drinking german beer, I would recommend Duesseldorf. In germany we call it "Die laengste Theke der Welt" - what is translated to english "The longest bar of the world", because of the huge number of pubs. Duesseldorf is also close to the "Ruhrgebiet", which is the biggest urban agglomeration in germany. You have various opportunities of recreation activities.

Mr. E
My two favorite places in Germany were Rothenburg and Neuschwanstein.
