I was about twelve when the GDR ceased to exist and we all thought it was a great achievement. But lots of things our leaders said about capitalism and the so-called freedom of the west, we thought were propaganda back then, turned out to be true. But to answer your question, yes I miss it sometimes and if i could go back I would, as most former GDR citizens would do.
